76ers Rule Out Dewayne Dedmon vs. Celtics
On Saturday night, the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Boston Celtics for the third time this season in a match that should be nothing short of a spectacle.
Their last meeting was in early February, in a game that showed the Sixers still have more than enough to work on, as the Celtics came out victorious, 106-99, despite Jaylen Brown leaving the game early with an injury to his jaw.
Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey struggled to find their footing on the court, with the two failing to shoot above 22 percent from the field, combining for ten points by the end of the game.
Joel Embiid ended the game with a team-high 28 points on 52 percent shooting from the field, helping the Sixers keep themselves within a ten-point deficit.
While Embiid is expected to play, given that he is off Philadelphia's injury report for the second straight game after plaguing it for the previous twelve games, the same can't be said for his newly acquired backup, Dewayne Dedmon.
Dedmon is listed as out as he continues to suffer from soreness in his left hip, which was the same thing that kept him out against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.
The 33-year-old was acquired following the closure of the trade deadline as Daryl Morey, and the Sixers' Front Office looked to add other backup centers for Embiid.
Dedmon has yet to make his debut for Philadelphia after suiting up against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the match prior to the All-Star break.
