76ers Rule Out Two Veterans vs. Spurs
On Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers are set to welcome the San Antonio Spurs into the Wells Fargo Center, looking to extend their winning streak to six games.
All eyes are set to be on the match-up between reigning MVP Joel Embiid and the first overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, Victor Webanyama.
Embiid comes into the match fresh off of earning his third Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor of the season, after posting a stat line of 36 points, eight rebounds, and five assists per game.
While the focus will be on them, Nick Nurse will have a noticeably shorter bench rotation to put out against Wenbanyama and the Spurs, as Patrick Beverley and Marcus Morris Sr., amongst other players, will be sidelined on Monday night.
Beverley is set to miss his second game in a row due to illness, making it only his second missed match of the season, proving to be quite the consistent player for Nurse, averaging 5 points on 42 percent shooting off the bench.
The same thing can be said for Morris, who will miss only his fifth match with the Sixers since coming over in the James Harden trade the match due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot.
The North Philadelphia native has been another important piece of the Sixers' bench, contributing an average of seven points and three rebounds in his appearances.
Elsewhere on Philadelphia's bench will sit Mo Bamba, Robert Covington, De'Anthony Melton, and potentially Jaden Springer, who is listed as questionable due to tendinitis in his right ankle.
Philadelphia will take on San Antonio on Monday night, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST.
