On Friday night, the Philadelphia 76ers welcomed the Detroit Pistons into the Wells Fargo Center, facing the Motor City side for the second straight game, trying to build off of their win on Wednesday night.

Much like their previous victory, the Sixers overpowered the Pistons in every quarter, finishing the match with a  124-92 final score, picking up their fifth straight win.

Philadelphia's big three of Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey all had productive nights from the field, combining for a total of 67 points.

Despite losing the match, the Pistons still had a few players who managed to cause trouble for the Sixers, as James Wiseman and Bojan Bogdanovic put up a combined 37 points, with the Croatian sharpshooter converting two shots from beyond the arch.

What were the takeaways?

Embiid continues to dominate

To no one's surprise, the defending MVP had himself a night against the Pistons, scoring 35 points on a stellar 47 percent from the field, which includes his two makes from down town.

His 35 point performance ties his personal record for consecutive matches of scoring 30 or more points, with his original ten-game streak taking place in March of last season.

This isn't to say that Embiid didn't have an impact on the Sixers' defense, as he grabbed 13 defensive rebounds, while also recording two steals and four blocks.

Marcus Morris is a threat from downtown

While he hasn't received all the playing time in the world since coming over from the Los Angeles Clippers in the James Harden trade, averaging a steady 13 minutes since the trade; the Philadelphia native-Marcus Morris has made the most of it.

Friday night's match was no different story as the veteran went off for 15 points, with all of them coming from behind the arch, where he shot with 100 percent accuracy.

This is clearly a constant thread throughout Philadelphia's current five-game win streak, as going into the match, Morris had been shooting with 60 percent accuracy from down town, across the winning streak.

Sixers put on defensive masterclass

While the Sixers' offense was stellar against the Pistons, with five players managing to put up double-digit scoring numbers, their defense was just as impressive.

Nick Nurse's side was able to record a season-high 17 steals, breaking their previous high set against the Boston Celtics earlier in the season. This feat comes at the hands of Harris and Patrick Beverley, amongst others, as both players recorded three steals.

As previously mentioned, the Sixers' Cameroonian superstar had a huge night on the defensive, especially when it came to blocks, while four other Philadelphia players managed to join him in that statistical category.
