76ers' Tyrese Maxey Suffers Foot Injury vs. Bucks
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey left Friday night’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks with an injury.
During the second quarter of the matchup, Maxey suffered an apparent lower-body injury after getting fouled. Clearly in pain, Maxey remained in the game to put up his two free throws. After going 1-2 at the line, the Sixers fouled to get the young guard out of the game.
As soon as Maxey checked out, the third-year guard went straight back to the Sixers’ locker room. As expected, Maxey was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after leaving the court. According to a Sixers official, Maxey suffered a left foot injury.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Maxey will get an MRI on Saturday night to find out the severity of the young veteran’s injury. According to Wojnarowski, initial X-rays on Maxey’s foot came back negative, which is a positive early sign.
Maxey was having himself a stellar game on Friday night. As the Sixers struggled against the Bucks throughout the first half of the matchup, Maxey was leading his team’s offense in his nearly 21 minutes on the court.
During his time on the floor Friday, Maxey went 9-12 from the field, draining three of his four three-point attempts. He wrapped up his night with 24 points, four rebounds, five assists, and a block.
Without Maxey on the floor for the Sixers, the team started guards Shake Milton and De'Anthony in the second half of the matchup against the Bucks.
