The Boston Celtics entered their Tuesday night matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers expecting to potentially play without one of their All-Stars as Jaylen Brown was on the injury report listed as questionable due to lower back pain.

This season, Brown appeared in 66 games for the Celtics, averaging 36 minutes on the floor. He’s been a stellar co-star to Boston’s forward, Jayson Tatum, as Brown has averaged 27 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while knocking down 50 percent of his field goals and 34 percent of his threes.

Lately, Brown’s been healthy and available for the Celtics, as he’s appeared in the past 16 games. When the Celtics faced the Utah Jazz in their last matchup on March 31, Brown turned in a full 34-minute shift in the eight-point win over the Jazz.

During the first three meetings between the Celtics and the Sixers this year, Brown averaged 31 minutes on the floor. Against the Sixers, Brown averaged 48 percent of his shots, putting up 22 points per game. In addition to his scoring, Brown averaged three rebounds and three assists.

Unfortunately for Boston, Brown will not get the nod to go on Tuesday. According to Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla, Brown will get the night off. While Brown’s absence is always notable for the Celtics, Boston has proven to find success without him at times this season as they hold a 9-3 record without him.
