For the first time this season, the Philadelphia 76ers will pay a visit to their Eastern Conference competitors, the Orlando Magic.

In past years, the Magic were viewed as a rebuilding squad in the Eastern Conference. These days, they are hovering around the playoff picture more than 20 games into the season.

Wednesday’s battle will serve fans an opportunity to see the East’s third and fourth seeds battle it out. For Philly, they hold the higher ranking as they have a record of 20-9. The Magic land two games behind them, with an 18-11 record.

Both teams will go into the matchup shorthanded on Wednesday, but the Sixers by far, will miss the most prominent player between both squads as Joel Embiid has been ruled out with a sprained ankle.

Philly’s Embiid-less record is far from ideal this year. In the four outings he missed, the Sixers failed to collect a single win. On Wednesday, the Magic hope to make it five as they search for another victory to help them close in on Philly’s third-place ranking.
