76ers vs. Mavericks: KJ Martin's Injury Report Status

The Sixers' forward may remain out against the Mavericks.

On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia 76ers are set begin a two game road trip as they travel to the US Airlines Center, where they will face off against the Dallas Mavericks, having lost to the Western Conference side in early February.

They will go into the match fresh off of a win against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night, which snapped their previous two-game losing streak.

Tyrese Maxey led the way for the Sixers, scoring 33 points on 37 percent from the field, while also securing six rebounds.

It wouldn't just be Maxey's offensive brilliance that would lead the Sixers to the win, as the 23-year-old came up with a big block on a Tre Mann layup attempt in the final minute of play that would help nail the door shut on the Hornets.

This isn't to say that there were other notable performances, as Tobias Harris put up one of the more notable stat lines of the season, dropping 31 points, 15 of which came in the first quarter alone, along with 12 rebounds.

One player who missed out on Friday's narrow victory over the Hornets was KJ Martin, who sat out due to an impingement in his right ankle.

This is the same injury that kept the 23-year-old out of the Sixers' two games prior to Friday night's affair.

It appears that things may not be entirely better, as Martin has been listed as questionable for Sunday afternoon's match in Dallas due to the issue in his right ankle.

This recent injury stint has only added to what has been a spotty season for the 23-year-old, having missed several games following his move to Philadelphia.

Against Philadelphia's loss to Dallas earlier on in the season, Martin came on in the final few minutes to have a minor role in the game, dropping five points on 66 percent shooting.

Nick Nurse has opted to slide G-League stand-out Ricky Council IV into Martin's role on the team for the time being, with the 22-year-old dropping 21 points across ten minutes of time on the court over the three-game stint.

The Sixers are set to take on the Mavericks on Sunday afternoon, with tip-off slated for 1:00 p.m. EST.
