The Philadelphia 76ers continue their road trip on Friday night with a matchup against the Houston Rockets

So far, the Sixers have split games during their four-game slate to close out 2023. When they paid a visit to the Miami Heat for a Christmas Day matchup, the shorthanded Sixers couldn’t steal one against the Jimmy Butler-less Heat.

Two nights later, the Sixers paid a visit to the Orlando Magic and once again faced their opponent down two starters in Joel Embiid and Nic Batum. That time around, however, the Sixers found success.

With an impressive offensive outing from the trio of Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, and De’Anthony Melton, the Sixers came out on top with an impressive 112-92 win over the Magic.

On Friday, Philly will search for its second in a row with a battle against the Houston Rockets. Friday’s game marks the first time the two teams will meet this season.

When the Sixers and the Rockets faced each other in early December last year, they engaged in a double-overtime battle, which didn’t end in the Sixers’ favor. Losing 132-123, the Rockets snapped a five-game losing streak against the Sixers.

Philly bounced back at home in February of 2023. Collecting a 123-104 win, the Sixers improved their historical record against the Rockets to 76-75. They’ll search for more separation on Friday, hoping to issue Houston its third-straight loss.
