Last week was a busy one for the Philadelphia 76ers.

When they opened up the week with a Monday afternoon matchup against the Houston Rockets, they didn’t get much time to rest and recover before their next game.

In Monday’s matchup against Houston, the Sixers benefitted from the return of their superstar big man, Joel Embiid. After missing the previous three games due to knee inflammation, Embiid returned with a bang, scoring 41 points in 31 minutes.

Considering he had a few absences during the previous week, Embiid’s status against the Denver Nuggets the following night was unclear. However, the Sixers kept him available as he avoided any further setbacks against Houston.

The big man followed up with another dominant showing. In 38 minutes of action, Embiid collected a double-double, producing 41 points and ten assists. He nearly notched a triple-double as he came down with seven rebounds.

The Sixers got a few days off before they fired up another back-to-back set of games, starting in Orlando against the Magic. Embiid benefitted from another early night, as he clocked in for just 30 minutes en route to a 15-point victory over Orlando.

When the Sixers approached their Saturday night matchup on the road against the Charlotte Hornets, they added Embiid to the injury report. He was questionable due to injury recovery.

Embiid didn’t accept a night off, though. While Saturday’s game against a struggling Hornets team offered a good opportunity for Embiid to get some rest after appearing in the previous three games, the star center took the floor for a little under 37 minutes. He scored 33 points and ten rebounds in the Sixers’ fifth-straight win, which occurred in Charlotte.

With Embiid taking advantage of one day of rest on Sunday, the big man is expected to return to the floor to face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

Barring any unexpected changes, Embiid is available to play. Monday would will mark his fifth-straight appearance this season.
