76ers vs. Timberwolves: James Harden’s Playing Status Tuesday
After getting added to the injury report on Tuesday afternoon, Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden will not get the nod to play against the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Once again, Harden’s season was off to a tough start as a foot injury sidelined him for a stretch. While Harden looked forward to getting a fresh start in 2022-2023, leaving hamstring concerns behind him, a tendon strain in his foot took him off the court for 14 straight games.
Harden returned to the court on December 5. Since then, he’s missed just two games, getting an occasional night off to rest up his foot after going down with the injury earlier in the year.
It’s been a while since Harden appeared on the Sixers’ injury report. The last time the star guard missed a game for Philly was on January 21, when the Sixers paid a visit to the Sacramento Kings.
Since that one-game absence, Harden’s been on the floor for the last 18 games. During that time, Harden has spent an average of 37 minutes on the court. He’s put up 23 points per game while draining 43 percent of his threes.
In addition to his scoring, Harden’s averaged ten assists and six rebounds during the recent 18-game stretch. And when the Sixers faced the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, Harden nearly tied his single-game assist career-high as he dished out 20 assists for the second time this year.
With the night off on Tuesday, the next time Harden could take the floor is on Friday, when the Sixers return home to host Portland.
