On Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will continue their road trip with a matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

As the Sixers have hit a bit of a skid lately, they hope to get a key reinforcement in the Bay with their star guard, Tyrese Maxey.

Last week, the Sixers had a rough showing on the road against the Indiana Pacers. Despite having their star duo of Joel Embiid and Maxey intact, both players suffered minor injuries during the game.

When the Sixers prepared for their Saturday night matchup against the Denver Nuggets, they tossed out the possibility of playing without Maxey for just the second time this year. According to the team’s injury report, Maxey was dealing with a sprained ankle.

Unfortunately, the Sixers had to give it a go without Maxey in the mix on Saturday. Down three starters against the NBA’s defending champions, the Sixers couldn’t get the job done. They took on a second-straight loss.

There was hope for Maxey to return to the court on Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, as he was once again considered questionable for the matchup. For the first time this season, the young guard missed consecutive matchups as he was ruled out.

The Sixers couldn’t overcome the losses of Embiid and Maxey over the latest two-game stretch. After falling short against Portland on Monday, the Sixers will look to bounce back with a matchup against the Warriors on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, they'll have to roll without Maxey running the starting backcourt once again. As the ankle sprain lingers for the young guard, he's on pace to miss three matchups in a row.

Tuesday’s game against the Warriors is the first of two matchups between Golden State and the Sixers. When the Sixers played the Warriors last in March of last season, Maxey checked in for 39 minutes and scored 21 points while ranking up five assists and four rebounds.

The Sixers and the Warriors are set to battle it out at 10 PM ET.
