Joel Embiid's Playing Status vs. Bulls Revealed
Originally, the Philadelphia 76ers had no players on the injury report heading into their matchup with the Chicago Bulls. That changed when Joel Embiid's name was added on Monday afternoon. The reigning MVP was listed as questionable due to hamstring tightness.
Like most nights when Embiid is questionable, he will go through warm-ups and see how he is feeling. From there, the team will make a final decision in regards to his playing status.
Just before tip-off with the Bulls, Embiid's status was revealed. The Sixers' star big man will be in the lineup against the Chicago Bulls on Monday.
Even though he's got to sit out multiple fourth quarters in the Sixers' recent stretch, it has still been a busy part of the schedule. Last week, they played four games in a span of six days. This included a home/road back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.
So far this season, Embiid has been a constant in the Sixers' lineup. Heading into Monday, he has played in 22 of the team's 25 games. Embiid most recently sat out at the end of November, when he missed two games due to an illness that plagued most of the team.
If Embiid has been dealing with nagging injuries, he's had a funny way of showing it. The All-Star center has been on a dominant tear and putting up historic offensive numbers. Embiid is fresh off posting 42 points and 15 rebounds in just 30 minutes of action in the blowout win over the Hornets.
