After picking up a victory in Detroit on Wednesday, the Philadelphia 76ers traveled back home to face the Pistons on Friday. Along with extending their winning streak to five games, Joel Embiid also beat a record set by an all-time great.

Earlier this week, Embiid erupted for 41 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists in a blowout victory. The second time around, he finished 35 points and 13 rebounds in an even more dominant win for the Sixers. With the performance, Embiid surpassed Wilt Chamberlain for the most consecutive games with at least 30 points and ten rebounds (9).

Following the win, Embiid was asked about having his name next to a player like Wilt in the history books. He acknowledged how special of a player Chamberlain was and said his main focus is dominating on the floor every night in whatever way possible.

“Obviously, he did a lot of great things with what he was able to accomplish. It’s great to be in that class, but I just want to dominate every single night, so whatever it takes," Embiid said postgame. "Whether it’s scoring or passing. So, I was just fortunate to make a couple of shots. Just gotta keep it going.”

Other players on the Sixers have talked about how Embiid is more locked in than ever this season. His play through the first quarter of the season has him in the running for MVP for the fourth straight season. In the 21 games Embiid has appeared in this season, he's notched at least 30 points and ten rebounds in 14 of them.

What's been most impressive about Embiid's play this season has been his all-around impact on a nightly basis. Currently, he is leading the league in scoring (33.8 PPG) and is fifth in rebounds per game (11.5). On top of this, the Sixers star is also posting a career-high in assists (6.1).

Embiid will have an opportunity to build on his streak on Saturday night as the Sixers travel to face the Charlotte Hornets in the second leg of a back-to-back.
