Kendrick Perkins Jabs at James Harden While Praising Tyrese Maxey

Former champion takes shot at James Harden's "system" comments

On Sunday night, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey had a career night against the Indiana Pacers. His performance was so impressive that one analyst used it as an opportunity to take a jab at James Harden. 

In the Sixers' 137-126 win over the Pacers, Maxey erupted for a career-high 50 points. He also tallied seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks while shooting 62.5% from the field. 

Maxey has been on the fast track to stardom this season, and this performance is a testament to that. Since becoming the No. 2 option behind Joel Embiid, the young guard continues to take his game to new heights. 

Following this incredible scoring outburst, many people rushed to social media to share their thoughts on Maxey. Among them was NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins. He called Maxey a system to take a shot at Harden. This choice of words was in reference to Harden calling himself a system when he arrived with the LA Clippers.

Maxey has constantly grown his game since entering the league, but he is cementing himself as a star-level talent in this league. Through nine games, he is averaging 28.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 7.2 APG, and 1.0 BPG on 50/43/93 shooting splits. Maxey's emergence has been a key factor in the Sixers starting the season 8-1. 

Following the trade, the Sixers and Clippers are trending in completely different directions. Philly continues to pile on wins, while LA has yet to get in the win column since bringing in Harden. On top of that, Harden has the worst plus/minus on the Clippers at -16.8.
