Milwaukee Bucks Veteran Offers Controversial Sixers Take
A little over a week since getting traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, former Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley believes that the two organizations he has suited up for this season have two different goals.
For the Bucks, “everybody wants to win,” according to Beverley. For the Sixers, well, he questions that idea.
On a recent episode of the Pat Bev Podcast with Rone, Beverley revealed that he had a conversation with 76ers forward Tobias Harris, who grew curious about the difference between Beverley’s two squads.
The veteran two-way standout revealed his response.
“I talked to Tobias [Harris] on the phone and he was like, ‘Yo, what’s the biggest difference?’ I’m like: ‘Everybody wants to win… Everybody wants to win. Everybody wants to win. It’s not about stats. It’s not about numbers here. It’s not about who gets the ball. Everybody here wants to win.’”
Over the summer, Beverley joined the Sixers via free agency after a short stint with the Chicago Bulls. The veteran guard reunited with Daryl Morey and Nick Nurse years after his time with the Houston Rockets organization.
Beverley was brought to Philly to offer vocal leadership, defensive toughness, and a spark off the bench behind Tyrese Maxey. While he played his role well, the Sixers felt they couldn’t pass up on an offer from Milwaukee on the day of the trade deadline.
During his time with the Sixers, Beverley had nothing but positive things to say about his team and the members of the roster. On the day he was traded, Beverley maintained a positive mindset and continued to use positive words to describe his brief stint with the 76ers.
However, the now-former Sixer is singing a different tune about his previous squad, while talking up the Bucks. Since the Sixers and the Bucks are technically rivals these days, as they are direct competitors in the Eastern Conference, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Beverley wants to shade the Sixers.
As expected, though, Beverley’s recent comments aren’t sitting right with Philadelphia’s supporters. That should surely have an impact on the reaction from the fan base when Beverley takes the floor at the Wells Fargo Center on February 25.
