Nick Nurse Pleased With Tobias Harris' Fourth Quarter Efforts vs. Bucks
Recently things haven't been going the right way for Tobias Harris, whether it's fans starting to make the case for his removal from the starting lineup, or the occasional lackluster performance.
The latter of the two could be seen in his performance against the New York Knicks, where he only managed to put up two points on 16 percent shooting.
While it isn't all that out of the ordinary to have the occasional low scoring night, he usually makes up for it in other categories on the floor, but he wouldn't do that against the Knicks, only collecting three rebounds and one assist.
All eyes were on the 31-year-old to see how he would bounce back on Thursday night when the Sixers took on the Milwaukee Bucks.
It looked as if things weren't going to be getting any better for Harris, as he opened the first half off with only three points, helping contribute to the Sixers' eight point lead at the half, with his three rebounds and two assists.
Despite things not looking so hot for the veteran forward, he found his rhythm in the fourth quarter, dropping nine points on 80 percent from the field, which would help bring his scoring total up to 15 points, the second highest on the team.
His work in the fourth quarter was something that caught the eye of Nick Nurse, who praised his energy down the stretch, especially given that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez were guarding him.
"Yeah it was, because it didn't feel like he was not getting many opportunities, no great looks, but he took it with some assertiveness and was turning the corner and he had Giannis on him to boot," explained Nurse, "So he was getting to some good places and vaulting up and knocking them down, it was great to see."
While Harris picked his game up in the fourth quarter, it did come despite having to temporarily leave the game after he injured his ankle late into the game following a defensive play on Antetokounmpo.
