In the leadup to the Philadelphia 76ers' match against the Sacramento Kings, it wasn't a surprise to see Joel Embiid and Robert Covington on the bench, given their respective injury stints as of late.

However, there would be a surprise late addition to the Sixers' injury report, as Kelly Oubre Jr found himself on it due to soreness in his right toe.

Following Philadelphia's victory over Sacramento which snapped their season-high three game losing streak, Nick Nurse provided an explanation to Oubre's late scratch, stating that wasn't something that had bothered the reserve star up until game time.

"He's had a little bit of a toe issue, but it hasn't held him out of anything leading up to the game," said Nurse, "He went out there and did his warm-up, and kind of jammed it a little bit, and they tried to tape it and take him out there again, it still wasn't good and they tried a different tape and just got ruled out at the end that it was too sore to play on tonight.

Oubre has proven to be quite the addition for Philadelphia's front office, averaging 13 points on 46 percent shooting, which has helped him earn a part time spot in the starting lineup at different points throughout the season.

While Oubre's status for the Sixers' match on Monday afternoon is unknown, Nurse explains that the team's medical staff isn't too perplexed about the 28-year-old's injur.

"They're not overly concerned with it," explained Nurse, "he has had it for a little bit, but it just kind of flamed up in his workout tonight."

Oubre wasn't the only player that Nurse provided an update on, as he briefed reporters on the aforementioned Covington's status, explaining that he has been doing on court work recently, and his playing status for Monday could be decided on Sunday.

"Cov [Covington] has been on the court the last two days," explained Nurse, "I think that they're hoping everything's cool and that he can go full tilt on Sunday and be clear to play."

The 33-year-old hasn't appeared in Philadelphia's previous five matches as he has been suffering from swelling in his left knee.
