It’s no secret Tyrese Maxey has become a fan favorite for the Philadelphia 76ers. Even before he was an everyday starter for the team, Maxey earned a lot of love when he joined the team as its first-round selection out of Kentucky.

These days, Maxey has developed into an NBA star. Midway through his fourth season, Maxey was named an All-Star for the first time in his career. With his on-court progression and always-positive personality, Maxey has generated a significant fan base and recently learned about one of his biggest fans through a viral video on TikTok.

In a TikTok posted by the user @alexxblomm, a fan raves about Maxey. This week, the Sixers’ social media team caught Maxey’s reaction seeing the video for the second time.

“Maxey… That’s my boy,” said the fan. “I hope he gets better.”

A smiling Maxey was relieved to reveal that he was finally healthy after missing a handful of games due to a concussion. Last week, when the Sixers faced the New York Knicks, Maxey returned following a four-game absence.

After wrapping up Saturday’s win over the Charlotte Hornets, the young veteran had appeared in his third-straight outing since returning.

As the video continued, Maxey found it funny when it was pointed out that he helped Joel Embiid “get so many points because he helped him.”

When the TikTok wrapped up, Maxey found satisfaction in agreeing.

“I gotta help him. Grandma’s right, I got to help Joel get his points. Without me, he wouldn’t do it,” Maxey said.

Unfortunately, the Maxey-Embiid combination hasn’t had the opportunity to compete together in months. As Embiid recovers from a knee injury, it’s going to take some time before he gets cleared for action once again.

In the meantime, Maxey will continue building on his All-Star resume as the Sixers’ offense runs through him amidst his career year.
