The 2023 NBA offseason might’ve been drama-filled for the Philadelphia 76ers so far, but all of the outside noise was turned off on Saturday as the team’s star center Joel Embiid tied the knot.

During the same year Embiid was named the NBA’s MVP, the big man also got a ring outside of basketball as he married Anne de Paula.

Former Sixers Limited Partner Michael Rubin was in attendance on Saturday afternoon and was the first to share a photo from the big event. As more pictures and videos surfaced later on, several of Embiid’s current and former teammates were seen in attendance.

As far as current teammates, Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, and De’Anthony Melton were at the big event. Now-former Sixers forward Georges Niang was there as well.

It’s no surprise Harris made an appearance, considering he’s been Embiid’s teammate for the longest at this point. When the Sixers snatched Harris via trade with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019, they re-signed him on a long-term deal, which is set to expire next summer.

As for Tyrese Maxey, he’s grown close with Embiid and the rest of his Sixers teammates throughout his first three seasons in the NBA. And as long as Maxey’s rewarded with a long-term extension sometime in the near future, he’ll be a running mate with Embiid for years to come.

Niang and Melton are two of the most recent Sixers acquisitions, who built a relationship with Embiid rather quickly. Melton joined the 76ers last summer after the team traded Danny Green and a first-round pick to the Memphis Grizzlies.

As for the sharpshooting forward Niang, he signed on with the Sixers via free agency two summers ago. After wrapping up his two-year run with the 76ers in 2023, Niang hit the free agency market once again. It turns out his Sixers stint will stop at two years, as he inked a multi-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers a few weeks back. Despite being out of Philadelphia, it appears Niang remains close with his Sixers teammates.
