Throughout the 2023 off-season, many wondered whether Tobias Harris played his final game with the Philadelphia 76ers. Although Harris is under contract for the 2023-2024 season, he instantly became a favorite for insiders to include in trade rumors this offseason.

Prior to the 2023 NBA Draft, Harris-related rumors were loud, which led some to believe he could be involved in a blockbuster deal before or during the big event.

Along with the rumors, Harris’ agent/father publicly accused the Sixers of not using the veteran forward correctly over the past season. The elder Harris painted his son as a disgruntled player looking for a change of scenery.

However, the Sixers’ forward went on record to make it clear that he wanted to remain on board with the team he signed with back in 2019. In the process of explaining his thoughts on the situation, Harris went viral for the quote that accused “casual” Sixers fans of being willing to trade Harris for a Crumbl Cookie.

“Casual Sixers fans, they’ll trade me for a Crumbl Cookie,” Harris said a couple of weeks back. “At the end of the day, have to realize you’re not getting a 6’9” forward back who can damn near shoot 40 percent from three, guard the other team’s best player, shoot close up, drive, play 70-plus games a year.”

As the draft inched closer, the Sixers’ likelihood of moving on from Harris decreased by the day. With the NBA Draft and the start of free agency in the rearview, Harris is not only still on the Sixers — but the trade rumors have faded significantly.

Although the rumors have been quiet, Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey wanted to have some fun with the viral quote weeks later as he paid a visit to a Crumbl Cookie.

Will Harris stick around with the Sixers for the final season of his original deal? It seems that could be the case as time passes. Not only has Harris publicly stated he doesn’t want to be dealt, but he recently spent time with some of his notable teammates over the weekend.

With Harris seemingly on good terms with everybody, and the trade rumors simmering down since the beginning of the offseason, it doesn’t seem like the veteran forward is on the move at this time.
