Sixers Release Full 2023 Preseason Schedule
A little over two months from now, the Philadelphia 76ers will begin their 2023 NBA Preseason with a matchup on the road against the Boston Celtics.
The game will serve as a rematch of the Eastern Conference Semifinals this past postseason. After taking down the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the playoffs with a four-game sweep, the Sixers went toe-to-toe with the Celtics once again.
Historically struggling against the Celtics in the playoffs, the Sixers hoped to find better results this time around. At one point, the Sixers seemed destined to break the second-round slump as they went up 3-2 over the Celtics heading into Game 6. Unfortunately for Philly, the Sixers couldn’t put the Celtics away once and for all.
Philly and Boston went seven games in that series, which ended with the Celtics advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals. Now, the Sixers will play the Celtics for a ninth-straight time, as they go head-to-head with the Celtics for the first two matchups of the preseason, before closing it out with the Nets and the Atlanta Hawks.
The Schedule
- Sixers at Celtics - October 8 - 6 PM
- Sixers vs. Celtics - October 11 - 7 PM
- Sixers at Nets - October 16 - 7:30 PM
- Sixers vs. Hawks - October 20 - 7 PM
This season, the Sixers are back on a mission to find better success in the playoffs. Although they’ve made it to the postseason over the last six years, they haven’t made it past the second round since the team’s NBA Finals run in 2001.
While getting to the Conference Finals would be a solid accomplishment, the team’s leadership made it clear that’s not the endgame. Possessing the MVP of the league in Joel Embiid, the Sixers are on a mission to bring a title back to Philadelphia for the first time in decades. The 2023 preseason will serve as an opportunity to see the Sixers begin their quest this year.
