Every year, the NBA puts out a GM survey before the regular season gets underway. Looking at the results, the Philadelphia 76ers find themselves slighted in multiple categories.

The Sixers ended up getting the most votes in one category, but it isn't one they want to be in. When asked what team's success is the hardest to predict this season, 30 percent of GMs went with Philadelphia. The next closest team was the Dallas Mavericks at 13 percent.

GMs voted this way due to the James Harden saga. Despite requesting a trade early in the offseason, the All-Star point guard still finds himself with the Sixers. Since there is no telling when or how this ordeal will end, Philly is by far one of the biggest wild cards in the NBA this season.

Another area the team was slighted in has to do with one of their major changes this offseason. That being parting ways with Doc Rivers and bringing in former Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse. GMs were asked what coach would have the biggest impact on their new team, and Nurse didn't receive any votes. This is a shocking result, considering Nurse isn't far removed from coaching the Raptors to a championship in 2019.

The Sixers managed to get some positive recognition in the GM survey, and that came in the form of Tyrese Maxey. When asked what player is likely to have a breakout season in 2024, 7 percent of GMs went with the Sixers' rising star.

Maxey is coming off his best season as a pro, averaging 20.3 PPG and being among the league leaders in three-point percentage (43.4 percent). If he sees a larger role this season due to the Harden situation, he can likely have a massive uptick in production.
