When reports first emerged that Zach LaVine and the Bulls were open to a trade, the Philadelphia 76ers were a key team mentioned. Following the James Harden trade on Halloween, Daryl Morey has the assets to swing another star trade.

From the beginning, all reports indicated the Sixers weren't that invested in trading for LaVine. All verbiage regarding their pursuit gave the implication that Morey was more just doing his due diligence on the situation. Recent updates on LaVine's market are a good sign for the Sixers if they decide to have a change of heart.

Recently, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago said that he feels a LaVine trade is inevitable. However, he also reported that the market for him isn't shaping out how the Bulls might have hoped.

“My sense is the market is very limited right now," Johnson said. "But I do think this will lead to a Zach LaVine trade I just think it’s an untenable situation that needs to be resolved.”

Chicago currently sits in 13th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 5-11. As for LaVine, he is averaging 21.3 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 3.3 APG.

The Sixers still have a lot of time to make a decision on LaVine. That said, this report is a major positive for them. If they do decide to seriously get in the mix, they might be able to acquire the two-time All-Star at a discounted price.

Through their first 15 games, the Sixers don't appear in any rush to make any drastic changes. Tyrese Maxey continues to look like a star next to Joel Embiid, and depth pieces like Nic Batum and Robert Covington are finding their groove. If the Sixers can maintain one of the top spots in the Eastern Conference standings, they might look to hold on to their depth past the trade deadline.
