Tyler Herro’s Playing Status for Sixers vs. Miami Heat on Wednesday
After a long stretch of absences due to a foot injury, Miami Heat sharpshooter Tyler Herro returned to action late in the 2023-2024 season.
While the Heat have kept a close eye on Herro’s injury down the stretch, they don’t have any concerns about his setback heading into Wednesday night’s Play-In battle between Miami and the Philadelphia 76ers.
According to the Heat’s injury report, Tyler Herro has been listed as available for the matchup. Therefore, barring any setbacks, the veteran starter should be good to go.
Herro’s string of absences started on February 26. As the Heat entered a matchup with the Sacramento Kings, the veteran figured he would miss an extended period of time.
Herro’s absence ranged from late February to early April. He ended up missing 20 consecutive games. Unfortunately, that was Herro’s second significant injury this season.
Back in early November, the Heat guard missed 18 games in a row. He returned on December 18. Herro would appear in 28 games for the Heat, averaging 33 minutes on the court to produce 20 points while draining 40 percent of his threes.
After facing his second string of absences later on in the year, Herro managed to churn out six games before the Heat’s season concluded. In two of those games, Herro came off the bench. He averaged 33 minutes during that stretch, producing 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game.
Last season, the Heat entered the 2023 NBA Playoffs as the eighth seed and put together a miraculous run. Unfortunately for Herro, he missed a large chunk of it. After appearing in just one game during the first round, Herro suffered an injury, which forced him out for the entire run.
While Herro missed most of the Heat’s postseason play last year, he’s got plenty of postseason experience beyond that. During the 2022 playoffs, Herro appeared in 15 games, averaging 13 points. In the second round against the Sixers, he had an impact off the bench as he knocked down nearly 40 percent of his threes and averaged 15 points per game.
The Heat didn’t have Herro available the last time they took on the Sixers, which was a matchup that ended in favor of Philadelphia. This time around, the Sixers will have to keep an eye on the sharpshooter as he’s cleared for action.
