The Philadelphia 76ers’ concerns regarding Tyrese Maxey’s recent setback have not gone away heading into their Tuesday night matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Once again, Maxey is listed as questionable for the matchup due to left hip tightness.

The young guard’s setback is recent, as Maxey popped up on the Sixers’ injury report for the first time in a while heading into Sunday’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

Prior to Sunday’s game, Maxey appeared in the 76ers’ last ten games. He was downgraded to questionable while the team was in Toronto coming off of a loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers. While Maxey was willing to consider playing in Toronto, he was ultimately ruled out.

Tuesday’s game could serve as another absence for Maxey. Playing without Maxey on Sunday didn’t cause the Sixers to extend their losing streak to four games in a row. In the veteran’s absence, the Sixers collected a 15-point victory. However, Philly took on a shorthanded and struggling Raptors team.

The Thunder pose a stronger threat on Tuesday night. As the top team in the Western Conference this week, the Sixers could use as much star power as possible. According to the injury report, the All-Star center Joel Embiid won’t be making his return just yet.

With the team already shorthanded, a potential absence from Maxey would also be quite significant, considering the Sixers are looking to climb two spots in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Similar to Sunday’s game, Maxey is likely a game-time decision. The Sixers and the Thunder are set to tip-off at 7:30 PM ET.
