Early on in the Philadelphia 76ers matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Tyrese Maxey looked to be having an off night. Heading into the final 12 minutes of play, the All-Star guard had just nine points.

Despite Maxey's struggles, the Sixers still found themselves with a chance to win down the stretch. They were able to get over the hump as the young guard came alive when it mattered most.

In the fourth quarter alone, Maxey notched 15 points to end the game with a team-high 24. He also filled up the box score with seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Between Maxey's fourth quarter dominance and an all-around productive night from the Sixers, they were able to take down the Cavaliers and get back in the win column. Following the 104-97 victory, Maxey reflected on his performance down the stretch. He promised the group if they could keep them within striking distance that he could finish the job in the end.

"Well, I was pretty stinky in the first three quarters. That’s not funny. If we can just hang around and then they give me a chance to make some shots in the fourth to close it out, I told them I got them, and that’s what we did," Maxey said.

This is not the first time Maxey has come up big in the final period. In fact, he's been one of the league's top fourth-quarter scorers all season. With Joel Embiid on the sidelines, the Sixers need Maxey to step up in moments like this now more than ever.

Following this much-needed victory against the Cavaliers, the Sixers now begin preparing for their matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday night.
