Tyrese Maxey Showcases Hidden Talent Before Matchup vs. Pistons
Through the first quarter of the season, Tyrese Maxey has emerged as a star for the Philadelphia 76ers. That said, the young guard recently revealed some hidden talents leading up to their next game.
After a blowout win against the Washington Wizards Monday, the Sixers hit the road to face off against the Detroit Pistons. This will be the first of two matchups the teams will have against each other this week.
Maxey has built a reputation for having an easy-going personality, and it was on display before Wednesday's game. While preparing for the matchup during shootaround, he broke out into song and dance. His moves were so contagious that Tobias Harris decided to join in as well. After the clip made its way to social media, Maxey stated that song and dance are good for the soul.
Based on this interaction, Maxey and the Sixers appear to be in good spirits. This likely has to do with the team regaining its positive momentum. Currently, the Sixers are riding high on a three-game winning streak. It has lifted them to 15-7 on the year, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
A large part of their success this season has stemmed from Maxey stepping up in a big way. With James Harden gone, he has become the new running mate for Joel Embiid. Maxey has taken this opportunity in stride, putting up averages of 27.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.7 assists (all career-highs).
The last time the Sixers faced the Pistons, it was a career night for Maxey. Along with notching 29 points, he dished out a career-high 11 assists. This performance was one of his five double-doubles of the year.
On Wednesday night, Maxey will look to continue his breakout season as the Sixers attempt to extend their win streak to four games.
