On Thursday morning, the Philadelphia 76ers acquired Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Furkan Korkmaz, Marcus Morris Sr, and three second-round picks.

Hield has been off to a great start to the year during his time with the Pacers, averaging 12 points on 44 percent shooting from the field, while also managing to collect three rebounds per game.

Both Morris and Korkmaz had been a part of Nick Nurse's game plans, albeit as members of the bench rotation, which culminated in an increase in playing time recently due to the injuries surrounding the Eastern Conference contenders.

The trade comes at a difficult time for the Sixers, as they've continued to deal with the aforementioned myriad of injury problems, as well as a rough patch in their schedule, losing seven of their past eight games, which has seen them sink to fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

What does Buddy Hield's contract look like?

As it stands, Hield joins Philadelphia in the last year of his four-year contract that is worth $94 million, which he penned back during the 2020-21 season as a member of the Sacramento Kings.

When looking at salary and cap space impact, the 31-year-old will earn $18.5 million this season, while taking up $19.2 million of the Sixers' existing cap space, which means he'll have the third largest hit only behind Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris.

Given Hield's veteran experience as well as his ability on the court, he is slated to be one of the bigger names in the upcoming free agency market this offseason.
