Anthony Edwards Vowed to Make Timberwolves-Nuggets Game 7 'Greatest of All Time'

With over eight minutes remaining in Game 6 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets on Sunday, Anthony Edwards held up seven fingers and looked toward the Target Center crowd.

Yes, there would be a Game 7 of this Western Conference semifinal series. And Edwards, who was mic'd up during Game 6, later dropped a prediction for that win-or-go-home affair.

“It’s going to be the greatest Game 7 of all time," Edwards said near the Timberwolves' bench. "The greatest Game 7 of all time."

The series between the Timberwolves and Nuggets has been plenty entertaining but still is lacking a memorable finish.

Minnesota shocked the basketball world by stealing the first two games at Ball Arena, winning by seven and 26 points. Denver punched back by winning the next three by an average of 16.7 points, and the Timberwolves forced Game 7 by handily defeating the Nuggets 115–70 on Thursday.

Like all Game 7s in the past, Sunday's clash at Ball Arena will shape the narrative of the 2024 playoffs. Can the Timberwolves take down Denver and further prove the NBA's small-ball era is dead? Or will Nikola Jokić rise to the occasion yet again and defend the Nuggets' 2023 championship?

Either way, it will be the first Game 7 of Edwards's young career. It appears he's saving something special for Sunday to try to send the defending champion Nuggets back home.
