For the second straight week, a Milwaukee Bucks player earned weekly honors.

Behind a stellar four-game showing, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 15. Antetokounmpo’s winning of the weekly accolade came after teammate Jrue Holiday won the same award for the January 16-22 period.

Coming back in style

Antetokounmpo carried Milwaukee on his broad shoulders, powering the Bucks to an undefeated week, allowing the team to surge to the second spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Antetokounmpo ended the January 23rd to 29th period with averages of 38.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.

The Greek Freak returned from a five-game absence due to knee soreness on January 23rd and made an immediate impact when he led the Bucks to a 150-130 win over the Detroit Pistons with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists.

The two-time MVP was also a beast when the Bucks took down the Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets, 107-99. Giannis finished with 33 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, and three steals in that win over Denver.

Consistency

The 7-foot forward sustained his fiery form when he collected 41 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, one steal, and a block that shoved the Bucks to a 141-131 win over the Indiana Pacers.

Antetokounmpo capped a stellar week with a 50-point explosion that catapulted the Bucks to a 135-110 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. The agile big man also had 13 boards and four assists in that one-sided win over the Pelicans.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists over 39 games this season, and the Bucks currently hold a 33-17 record, just two and a half games behind the 36-15 Boston Celtics.
