Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo missed their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a shoulder contusion. The two-time MVP was on the team's injury report before their game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday but still suited up and had a triple-double in a 143-142 victory. However, the injury appears to have grown worse to the point where Giannis did not feel comfortable enough to play.

Being smart about Giannis' health

Before his absence in Wednesday's game, Giannis had played 29 straight games, the longest streak he's had since playing 31 consecutive games during the 2020-2021 season. Bucks coach Adrian Griffin relayed that he doesn't believe the injury is serious, and they're just being smart about it.

"Well, from what I've been told, he went through shootaround, and then prior to the game tonight, he just felt that he couldn't go. So, we're just being smart. And I don't believe it's going to be multiple games. It'll just be day-to-day for now," Griffin said before the game.

Cavs dominate the Bucks in Giannis' absence

Giannis' absence was felt in the Bucks' game against the Cavs, which they lost by a whopping 40 points, 135-95. Although Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton suited up, they did little to stop the Cavs from stomping them as the two perimeter players shot a combined 8-of-30 from the field.

Antetokounmpo is undoubtedly the straw that stirs the drink for Milwaukee. The two-time MVP is averaging 31.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game in 39 games this season.
