Giannis Antetokounmpo, the bull-strong forward of the Milwaukee Bucks, has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 14 (January 22nd-28th).

It was the second time this season that Giannis was awarded with the weekly accolade. For his career, the Greek Freak has already received 23 Player of the Week honors.

Dominant week

Giannis snagged the award after leading the Bucks to a 3-1 record last week that saw him average 29.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. In that sterling week, Antetokounmpo shot 60.3% from the field and 42.9% from three.

The two-time MVP started the week with back-to-back triple-double performances. He collected 31 points, 17 rebounds, and ten assists in a 122-113 win over the Detroit Pistons. He then piled up 35 points, a season-high-tying 18 rebounds and ten assists when the Bucks nipped the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, 126-116.

Giannis capped the week with a 30-point, 12-rebound performance in a 141-117 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. In that win over New Orleans, Antetokounmpo shot 68.8% from the field, marking his league-high 17th game of the season, scoring 30 points on 60% or better shooting.

A stellar season for Giannis

Prior to Milwaukee’s game against Denver on Monday night, Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.0 points (4th in the NBA), 11.7 rebounds (5th in NBA), and a career-high 6.2 assists per game while shooting a career-best 60.8% from the field (9th in NBA) in his 11th season in the NBA.

The Player of the Week award came after Giannis was named an All-Star Game starter for the eighth consecutive year.

The Milwaukee Bucks are targeting Matisse Thybulle and P.J. Tucker before the Trade Deadline
