Jrue Holiday voted to East All-Star reserves
The Milwaukee Bucks will have two representatives in the upcoming 2023 NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City as Jrue Holiday was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star reserves, sealing his second All-Star Game appearance.
Holiday first played in the mid-season exhibition way back in 2013 making this the longest gap for any player in NBA history between 2 appearances, per ESPN Stats & Info. He will be joining forces with teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo, the captain of the Eastern Conference All-Star team, which is also known as Team Giannis.
Jrue deserved it
The 6-foot-5 playmaker has been stellar for the Bucks this season, helping the team overcome an injury-ravaged roster. Midway through the season, Holiday is averaging 19.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.4 steals.
It is also noteworthy that for the first time in his career, Holiday scored 35 or more points in two straight outings during this season.
He scored 35 points and dished 11 assists in leading an Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee to a 132-119 win over the Indiana Pacers on January 17th.
Holiday followed up that game with a 37-point explosion in the Bucks’ 130-122 win over the Toronto Raptors on January 18th.
