MarJon Beauchamp put on a scintillating performance in the CrawsOver Pro-Am when he erupted for a spectacular 83 points on Saturday at the Seattle Pacific University.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ 24th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft went 32-of-45 from the field and led Dream Team to a 140-105 win over Washington Finest.

Beauchamp also collared 10 rebounds and dished off four assists in a very productive 38 minutes of play.

Historic outing

Beauchamp’s offensive explosion shattered the old record that Isaiah Thomas made in the league run by former NBA player Jamal Crawford. Thomas scored 81 points when he took part in the league in August 2021.

The 6-foot-7 forward scored at will in the paint and nailed outside shots for a 40-point output after two-quarters of play. Beauchamp fired 18 points in the first period to tie the opposing team’s total output in the quarter.

One of the young guns to watch out for

Beauchamp is one of the young talents that the Bucks are counting on to flourish in the upcoming NBA season. In his rookie season, Beauchamp played 52 games and averaged 5.1 points per game and 2.2 rebounds in 13 minutes of playing time per contest.

Beauchamp’s rookie season saw him earn 11 starts. He had his highest-scoring game on November 14th, 2022, when he scored 20 points in the Bucks’ 106-121 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

The kind of talent and defense at the CrawsOver League may be a subject for debate, but the historic scoring outburst could give Beauchamp some kind of a boost, especially after his sub-par performance in the Summer League.

Beauchamp averaged just 13.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in the four games that he played in the pre-season tournament, where the Bucks won only two of their five games.
