The Milwaukee Bucks beat the New York Knicks for their season-high 7th-straight win
The Milwaukee Bucks once again imposed their dominance over the New York Knicks and chalked up a wire-to-wire 130-111 win on Saturday at the Madison Square Garden.
It was Milwaukee's ninth-straight win against New York, with the last three happening this season, two coming in the In-Season Tournament. The two squads will meet again on Monday at the same venue as part of the NBA's five-game Christmas Day duels.
Milwaukee's last win against New York was in the quarterfinal round of the In-Season Tournament, 146-122. The Bucks picked up from where they left off from that lopsided victory, leading from start to finish to ice their season-high seventh-straight win.
Balanced attack
Giannis Antetokounmpo collected 28 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and a block. In comparison, Bobby Portis Jr. gave the Bucks another huge night off the bench by finishing with 23 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Khris Middleton contributed 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
In a game where they led by as many as 22 points, the Bucks displayed a balanced attack as they nearly had five players scoring at least 20 points, with Damian Lillard and Malik Beasley chipping in 19 each.
Lillard also had nine boards, seven dimes, and a steal, while Beasley tossed in six rebounds and an assist in what was probably one of the most impressive wins by Milwaukee this season.
Staying in the race for the top spot
Improving to 22-7, the win enabled the Bucks to stay a half-game behind the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics, who are 22-6.
New York saw its two-game winning streak come to an end and fell to 16-12, good for sixth place in the East.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 36 points, while Julius Randle had 26 points and eight boards. The two New York stars combined for six of the team's 11 turnovers.
