The Milwaukee Bucks have bolstered their backcourt depth with the signing of Lindell Wigginton to a two-way contract. The 23-year-old Canadian already has some experience playing for the Bucks, having suited up for the team for 19 games last season. This season, he has spent most of his time with the Bucks’ G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd.

Second stint

Although Wigginton is not expected to log in many minutes—if at all—his addition gives the Bucks more flexibility in the backcourt. Aside from starter Jrue Holiday and reserve Jevon Carter, the Bucks only have veteran guard Goran Dragic as the point guards of the squad. However, Dragic has not played this season after getting signed from the buyout market as he recovers from knee soreness.

Wigginton’s addition makes sense, given how well he’s played with the Herd this season. He’s started 18 of the 35 games he suited up in and is logging in 18.6 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds in 33.5 minutes per game. Wigginton is already familiar with how the Bucks run their ship after he played in 19 games for the team while on a two-way contract last season. In those 19 games, the Iowa State product averaged 4.2 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 10.5 minutes of action.

Trying to make it

Wigginton went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft, but that has not stopped him from pursuing his hoop dreams. He’s played in 117 NBA G League games over the last four seasons, including 60 games with the Herd since 2020. The 24-year-old also played professionally in both Israel and Canada.
