The rumor mill involving disgruntled Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard continues to swirl, and this time, the Milwaukee Bucks appear to be the latest team to show an interest in acquiring the many-time All-Star guard.

According to renowned NBA insider Marc Spears, the Bucks are among a handful of teams Portland has talked to regarding a trade for their longtime ace.

The race is on

With training camp just a few days away, the Blazers appear intent on finding a suitable deal for Lillard. Even though Lillard has expressed a desire to be traded to the Miami Heat, the Blazers' front office is keen on getting the right package to help them rebuild around their young players, namely Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe, and Scoot Henderson.

Apart from the report, there’s no indication of how serious the Bucks are about pursuing Lillard. Doing so would require a significant package of picks and/or players, not to mention the need for Milwaukee’s salary cap flexibility.

However, acquiring a player of Lillard’s caliber would signal how serious Milwaukee is about winning an NBA title or two in the next few seasons.

Toronto leading the pack

Spears added that the Toronto Raptors appear to be the frontrunner to land Dame. He revealed he has spoken with some executives who told him that the Raptors may pull off the long-awaited trade for the seven-time All-Star.

With a treasure trove of assets that includes All-Star Pascal Siakam, versatile wingman OG Anunoby, and sharpshooter Gary Trent Jr., the Raptors are poised to put together a blockbuster package for Lillard.
