The Milwaukee Bucks suffered their second straight loss in the NBA Summer League after falling to the Miami Heat, 91-72, on Thursday at the Cox Pavillion in Las Vegas. The Bucks’ offense just couldn’t get into a rhythm as Miami held them to under 20 points in the first three quarters, resulting in the lopsided loss.

Loose ball protection

While Miami did play stifling defense, the Bucks didn’t do themselves any favors with their loose ballhandling. Milwaukee coughed the ball up a whopping 22 times, which the Heat converted into 17 points. The Bucks also failed to defend the Heat’s transition attack, giving up 17 fastbreak points.

Incoming sophomore Lindell Wigginton led the Bucks with 15 points, three rebounds, and two dimes, while MarJon Beauchamp put up 10. Big man Tacko Fall also had 10 points and three blocks.

Orlando Robinson led the Heat with 25 points, complementing them with eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Jamal Cain totaled 24 points, eight boards, and three assists. Drew Peterson produced 10 points, three assists, two steals, and one block.

Miami has Milwaukee’s number

While on separate levels, Miami’s win continues their dominance over the Bucks, dating back to their first-round clash in the NBA Playoffs in April. The Heat finished off the Bucks 4-1 in that series and did so convincingly. Milwaukee will try to bounce back in the next Summer League game against the Sacramento Kings.
