The Milwaukee Bucks already made waves in the offseason with the acquisition of superstar guard Damian Lillard. According to renowned NBA insider Brian Windhorst, the chances of the team making another one this season are slim.

Roster needs adjustments

The addition of Lillard to the Bucks' roster meant the subtraction of defensive stalwart Jrue Holiday, and this has adversely impacted Milwaukee's ability to defend the league's most potent perimeter players, which often puts the onus on the Bucks' interior players to protect the rim.

Windhorst believes that they need to make some roster adjustments if they can compete for a championship this season.

"The Bucks lack size and quickness on the outside, which constantly applies pressure to their second line of defense in the paint," Windhorst wrote on ESPN.

Although the Bucks may not consider making a trade involving any of their key pieces, they still have the Portland Trail Blazers' second-round draft pick, which may come in handy.

"They have traded almost all of their draft picks but do have the Portland Trail Blazers' second-round selection this season, which has some value. As a second apron team, however, they are limited in constructing a deal," Windhorst continued.

Active in the buyout market

While Windhorst reports that the Bucks won't likely be players in the trade market, they will take their chances in the buyout market.

"They will be active in the buyout market, but only if a bought-out player has a salary of less than $12.4 million this season because of second apron rules," Windhorst wrote.

With the Bucks being legitimate title contenders, it won't be hard to find players willing to take a buyout in order to join the team and compete for an NBA championship. The Bucks' approach to roster construction over these next few months could have a major impact on their title chances this season, so all eyes are on Milwaukee as they continue to navigate the trade deadline and beyond.
