The Milwaukee Bucks celebrate Giannis Antetokounmpo’s historic season
Giannis Antetokounmpo has had an unbelievable season, and the Milwaukee Bucks ensured their leading man’s efforts would be recognized before they head to the playoffs.
The Bucks gave Giannis due recognition when they held a special ceremony to celebrate the Greek Freak’s career accomplishments before their last regular season home game against the Memphis Grizzlies last Friday night.
Present in the ceremony were Bucks legend Paul Pressey and John Hammond, the team’s former general manager who selected Antetokounmpo as the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft.
Another Milwaukee legend, Ray Allen, was also in attendance.
Records
A framed jersey of Antetokounmpo was presented to him. The frame contained statistics that Antetokounmpo accumulated in this historic season that saw him become the franchise leader in points (16,280), assists (3,379), and games played (719).
Giannis is also the franchise leader in minutes played (23,378) and blocks (907).
For this season, Antetokounmpo is averaging a career-high in points with 31.1 points a game, which is fifth in the NBA. The two-time MVP is also in the top five in rebounding, with an average of 11.1 boards a game.
Antetokounmpo recorded three 50-point games this season, including a career-high 55 points in Milwaukee’s 123-113 win over the Washington Wizards last January 3rd.

He also put up six triple-double performances in a season that saw the Bucks grab the number one overall seed.
With the top seeding, the Bucks will be armed with home-court advantage in all the playoff series they will participate in.
The stellar season he had made Antetokounmpo one of the top MVP contenders. Giannis was a force to be reckoned with in the regular season, and expect him to be more vicious in the playoffs.
