The Milwaukee Bucks ended the regular season with a 121-105 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night.
The Bucks used their reserves in the road game. Top guns such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday didn’t suit up.
Best record in the league
There was no need for them to use their stars with their place in the playoffs already sealed.
Milwaukee finished the regular season with the best record in the league, a feat that netted them the number one overall seed that comes with home-court advantage in all of the playoff series that they will be playing.
The Bucks finished the season with a 58-24 record, going 32-9 at home and a decent 26-15 on the road.
They won their season series with the Raptors, 3-1.
Milwaukee is the overall number seed for the first time since 2020. Their opponent in the first round of playoffs will be determined after the conclusion of the play-in tournament in the East.
Lindell Wigginton paced the Bucks with 17 points, Bobby Portis Jr. tallied 16, while Goran Dragic and Thanasis Antetokounmpo each had 14.
Jae Crowder contributed 13, while Meyers Leonard added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Taking advantage
Gary Trent Jr. led the Raptors with 23 points, and Precious Achiuwa had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Toronto pounced on the absence of Milwaukee’s key players and jumped to a 35-26 lead after the first quarter. The Raptors padded the advantage to 67-55 at the half and cruised till the final buzzer.
Toronto ended the season with an even 41-41 record, good for the ninth seed. They will play the No. 10 seed Chicago Bulls in the play-in.
