Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a second straight 40-point performance, and the Milwaukee Bucks kept their hot streak going by beating the Washington Wizards 142-129 on Monday night.

Antetokounmpo wounded up with 42 points on a sizzling 20-of-23 shooting night from the field as the Bucks improved to 10-4 with their fifth-straight victory, their longest winning streak of the season so far.

Unstoppable Greek Freak

Giannis also had 13 rebounds and eight assists, putting in another monster performance after producing 40 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists in Milwaukee’s 132-125 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night.

It was the seventh time this season that Giannis scored 30 or more. Damian Lillard added 22 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, while Khris Middleton tallied 18 points, seven dimes, and six boards.

Too many weapons

All Milwaukee starters scored in double figures, with Brook Lopez and Malik Beasley chipping 16 points each. Bobby Portis Jr. cashed in 17 points and seven boards. Shooting a hot 58.5% from the field, Milwaukee’s total score was its highest so far this season.

The contest featured a red-hot Bucks squad and an ice-cold Wizards team, but the duel didn’t appear like a streaking team battling a struggling opponent as Washington put up a decent fight.

The Wizards even took a 108-107 in the final 10:17, but Giannis scored on a layup that sparked a 15-3 run that allowed the Bucks to pull away. Washington got no closer than seven points the rest of the way as the Bucks had an answer every time the home team attempted to claw back.

Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 30 points, while Kyle Kuzma had 22 points and 13 assists. The Wizards absorbed their sixth-straight loss to drop 2-11.
