There’s no slowing down the Milwaukee Bucks, who cruised to their eighth straight victory via a 127-108 beatdown of the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.

The Bucks kept their hot streak alive with ease, leading by as many as 26 points in the second half in what served as a good start for the team’s three-game road trip.

Splash Mountain stepped up

Veteran center Brook Lopez led the way for the Bucks with 27 points and nine rebounds. The sweet-shooting big man even made history when he nailed a three-pointer at the 10:41 mark of the third period that gave him his 15,000 career points.

Giannis Antetokounmpo added 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Jrue Holiday contributed 20 points, four boards, and eight assists as the Bucks coasted right from the opening tip.

All-around team effort

Milwaukee improved to 37-17 for the season, and they started strong last night, as they ended the first quarter with a 28-20 lead. The Bucks held a 58-48 advantage at the half and went on to lead by as many as 26 in the final two quarters for the easy win.

Khris Middleton played for more than 20 minutes for the first time since returning from an 18-game absence and finished with 13 points, three rebounds, five assists, and a steal.

Jevon Carter and Pat Connaughton each had 11 points for the Bucks, who improved to 14-12 on the road.

The victory tightened the Bucks’ hold on the second spot in the Eastern Conference standings, staying just one game behind the 38-16 Boston Celtics. The Blazers absorbed a second straight defeat, dropping to 26-28 despite getting 28 points from Damian Lillard.
