It appears that the Milwaukee Bucks’ first order of business this offseason is to name a new head coach after the firing of longtime head coach Mike Budenholzer in early May following the unceremonious exit of the Bucks in the first round. The Bucks have already interviewed several candidates and are reportedly now focusing on a select few for further consideration. That said, here’s a look at the developments involving their search last week.

1) Report states Milwaukee Bucks were impressed by Scott Brooks during interview

According to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, the Bucks recently interviewed former Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks for the position. The report states that Milwaukee was “impressed” with Brooks during his interview, but no further decisions have been made yet.

2) Doc Rivers linked to Milwaukee Bucks for vacant head coaching position

Former Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers is also being linked to the Bucks’ vacant head coaching position. Rivers, who’s also coached the Clippers in Los Angeles and led the Boston Celtics to the 2008 NBA title, has had an extensive coaching career and is reportedly high on Milwaukee’s list of potential candidates.

3) Milwaukee Bucks interview two more candidates for their vacant head coaching position

The pool of candidates for the vacant head coaching position of the Milwaukee Bucks also got deeper with the addition of University of Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson and Washington Wizards assistant Joseph Blair. The Bucks are making sure no stone is left unturned as they search for a replacement for Budenholzer. Both Sampson and Blair have earned praise throughout their respective careers, and are said to be considered strong contenders for the role.

4) Giannis says Victor Wembanyama will be a "big problem" in the NBA

Giannis has apparently seen enough of the presumptive first pick of this year's NBA draft, French center Victor Wembanyama, to believe he will be a major problem for the league in the future.

5) Miami Heat assistant coach Chris Quinn is being eyed by the Milwaukee Bucks

Longtime Miami Heat assistant coach Chris Quinn has also gotten the Bucks’ attention. He's another candidate to have interviewed for the job and could be a wildcard in the Bucks' coaching search. Quinn is known as a great developer of talent, having helped mold the Heat’s young core during his time with the team.
