The Chicago Bulls went to Mile High City and got spanked, 116-102, to suffer their second loss in the preseason stage of the brand-new season. After winning over the Nuggets in double-overtime last Thursday, Denver got some measure of revenge against Chicago, pulling away in the second half to snatch their second preseason win.

Patrick Williams comes alive

After subpar performances in the Bulls’ first two preseason games, Patrick Williams showed the Chicago faithful glimpses of what he can do when he’s aggressive with the basketball. The Florida State alum had 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting.

He also made three of his five three-point attempts. However, Williams’ effort on the glass left a lot to be desired. He only had two rebounds in 25 minutes of play, bringing his preseason total to a whopping seven.

"Big 3" sat out

After playing in the first two preseason games, the Bulls’ “Big 3” of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic sat game out. In contrast, the Nuggets played all their starters sans starting power forward Michael Porter Jr.

Two-time league MVP Nikola Jokic showed his readiness for the new season, tallying 15 points, nine boards, and five assists, while Jamal Murray led the Way for the Nuggets with 21 points and five assists. Aaron Gordon finished with 13 points and five boards.
