The Chicago Bulls (26-30) will try to snap a two-game losing streak as they host the New Orleans Pelicans (34-23) at the United Center on Sunday evening. The Bulls have another tough task as they try to regain their winning ways despite missing several key players.

Severely undermanned crew

The Bulls, sitting in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, recently received some devastating news regarding young, promising forward Patrick Williams, as the former fourth overall pick in 2020 will undergo season-ending surgery on his foot.

Williams now joins All-Star Zach LaVine—who’s going to miss the remainder of the season after going through surgery to repair his ailing foot—and Torrey Craig, who’ll miss the next two to four weeks because of a sprained knee.

These developments will place an enormous load on the shoulders of the Bulls’ remaining players, such as DeMar DeRozan, Coby White, Nikola Vucevic, Alex Caruso, and Ayo Dosunmu.

Pelicans also hurting

It also remains uncertain if New Orleans stars Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram will suit up on Sunday. Ingram is recovering from an illness, while Williamson is suffering from an injured foot. The two players are considered questionable to play, while CJ McCollum will not play because of an ankle injury.
