The Chicago Bulls are getting a much-needed shot in the arm when they take on the New York Knicks on Wednesday, as they are set to welcome back defensive lynchpin Alex Caruso to the lineup after a lower back contusion kept him from playing against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

Caruso probably playing

The Bulls have listed Caruso as probable heading to the front end of their back-to-back set against the Knicks at the United Center. While head coach Billy Donovan did not commit to Caruso playing, all signs point to the Texas A&M product suiting up to help the Bulls get back on the winning track.

Caruso shared that he felt no pain moving around and is looking to rejoin a Bulls squad looking to bounce back after a crushing 123-122 overtime loss last time.

"Not sore. No pain. Moving around. So that's a positive," Caruso said. "Nothing is for sure, but I'm feeling good. So I'm hopeful I can play."

Caruso's presence will shore up a defense that will try to stop the likes of Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. New York's starting point guard Jalen Brunson is questionable to play after suffering a foot injury in their last game.

"I think we're in a pretty good spot," Caruso said. "I feel we've done a good job of playing for each other, contesting shots, playing with extra effort, making rotations. I think it's about making sure we're doing it every time rather than 75-80 percent of the time."

Dosunmu's injury

The report on Ayo Dosunmu isn't as rosy after the sophomore suffered an abdominal contusion, leading to an early exit from the Hawks' game. Donovan said the young guard had to show significant improvement ahead of Wednesday's tip-off to take the floor.

"I think he'd have to show some pretty good improvement," said Donovan, hinting that Dosunmu will likely miss tonight's game.
