Caruso to rest vs. Wizards?
Alex Caruso played through a right ankle sprain against the Jazz, Suns, Warriors, and Kings. He had zero points on 0-of-4 shooting in 30 minutes in the 110-101 road loss against Sacramento on Sunday.
The 28-year-old contributed with four assists, three rebounds, three steals, and two blocks, but he had a tough night shooting-wise. He’s started the last two games and appears to have temporarily replaced Ayo Dosunmu as the Bulls’ starting point guard.
Caruso hasn’t missed a game this season; however, with just two points combined in his last two games, the Bulls may decide to rest him as he looks to get back on track. If Caruso is out, Dosunmu and Goran Dragic will see more playing time against the Wizards.
Javonte Green is doubtful
Javonte Green, who was moved into the starting lineup for the first time this season in the game against the Warriors, missed Sunday’s visit to Sacramento with right knee soreness and is listed as questionable for Wednesday.
Green has missed just one game this season; he’s been a defensive disruptor and a consistent source of energy for the Bulls. The 29-year-old forward is averaging 6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1 steal in 16.4 minutes over 22 games, shooting 58.6 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range.
The intangibles he brings to the court helped him become the team’s starting power forward against the Warriors, and he’ll likely to slot back into that role once he’s ready to come back.
