The Chicago Bulls visit the Miami Heat with two guys on their injury list
The Chicago Bulls (11-18) visit the Miami Heat (16-15) tonight, looking to avoid their fifth straight loss.
Lonzo Ball is still out for the Bulls with a left knee injury. Javonte Green (right knee soreness) is probable against the Heat.
Chicago Bulls' expected starting lineup
C: Nikola Vucevic
PF: Patrick Williams
SF: DeMar DeRozan
SG: Zach LaVine
PG: Alex Caruso
Will Green play against the Heat?
Green played 18 minutes off the bench on Friday’s 114-91 home loss against the Knicks, recording seven points, three rebounds, and one assist.
The 29-year-old forward is probable against the Heat due to right knee soreness. The injury forced Green to miss three consecutive games earlier this month. He’s averaging 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 16.2 minutes over 25 games this season.
If Green isn’t able to play against the Heat, Patrick Williams and Derrick Jones Jr. will split his minutes. Williams had 13 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds in 32 minutes against the Timberwolves on Sunday, while Jones Jr. added 13 points and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.
Green’s contributions earned him a spot in the starting lineup, replacing Williams, but his injury put his promotion on hold. “We’ll probably put [Green] back in the starting lineup [when he’s healthy] to see what that looks like,” Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said recently.
