Former UConn star Adama Sanogo is looking forward to the next chapter of his basketball career, this time as a member of the Chicago Bulls after he signed a two-way contract with the squad. Sanogo is a versatile, athletic forward who can score inside and out, rebound, and play defense. He brings the Bulls a lot of potential, but he'll have to prove his worth to make the team's 15-man roster.

Recognizes the opportunity

After going undrafted, the Bulls swiftly moved in on Sanogo—the UConn big man who was the Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Final Four. He knows how the opportunity to play in the big league doesn't come to many aspiring hoopers, so he's determined to make the most of it.

"If they give me a two-way, they're giving me a chance to prove myself to them," Sanogo said. "I'll show them how I can help this team to be one of the best in the NBA. I want to do whatever they want me to do to get a roster spot."

Quite a journey

It's been quite the journey for the 6-foot-9 big man, who grew up in Mali and loved playing soccer before transitioning to the hardcourt. Currently playing in the Summer League in Las Vegas, he's aware of the platform that he's playing on and is using all of it to prove himself to the Bulls.

"I may not get all the time I want in Summer League. But the time I may get, I'm going to use that to show them I'm a great teammate and I compete and I want to win," Sanogo shared.

While some players tend to showcase their offensive skills in Summer League, Sanogo is focused on showing off every facet of his skill set.

"My defense, being able to switch 1 through 5," Sanogo said. "Being able to stretch the floor a little bit, being able to catch-and-shoot. And work on my body a little bit. Those three things for sure."
